DEMENTIA
Dementia, a progressive brain dysfunction, leads to a
gradually increasing restriction of daily activities. Dementia
is different from normal memory loss that occurs due to
triggers such as aging, stress, tiredness, depression and
medications.

There are may conditions that could cause Dementia. The
most well-known type of dementia is Alzheimer's disease.

ALZHEIMER's DISEASE
Is a progressive brain disease. As many as 5 million
Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer's
destroys brain cells, causing problems with memory,
thinking and behavior severe enough to affect work, life
long hobbies or social life. The number of people suffering
with this disease are estimated to triple by year 2050

LEWY BODY DEMENTIA
Lewy body dementia (LBD) is a progressive brain disease
and the second leading cause of degenerative dementia in
the elderly. The clinical name, “dementia with Lewy bodies”
(DLB), accounts for up to 20% of all dementia cases, or
800,000 patients in the US. Over 50% of Parkinson’s
disease patients develop “Parkinson’s disease dementia”
(PDD), which accounts for at least 750,000 patients. (PDD
is also a Lewy body dementia.)
